I decided to ditch the procharger, and goin turbo...Matt and Greg both told me that's where I would end up, should have listened!!! I think I lost the rings in #3 and now it's a mosquito fogger...
Matt Rushin is going to build me a custom turbo set up with a 76mm turbo.
So I purchased an 04 cobra longblock, and will keep the 2 valve heads, cause I don't want to go through the 4valve computer swap and crap.
Seeing that I've had problems lifting heads, and blowing out spark plugs, I may look for some used aftermarket heads...
I talked to Matt, Cody, and Jinx about putting in an auto...I don't know if I want to do that just yet, and if I did it would be manual valvebody.
As far as fuel, I think I'm going to sump the stock tank and go return with an aeromotive fuel pump(A1000 I think).
If you guys have any input or suggestions, other than buy another car, please share!!!! Let me know what you think!!!
There are a few things to look into when installing 2V heads on a 4V block. One of the water passages must be changed. I found this out the hard way, as have other guys. Also, you will need to use a 4V water outlet and gasket. The 2V will bolt, but the shape is different and will cause a leak. That's another thing I learned the hard way.
At the same boost levels, 4V heads will make about 75-100HP more than 2V.
The jury is still out on whether the TF 2V heads are any good or not. Several of the Lightning guys are having issues with them.
IMO, do the auto, 4V heads, and auto MACH1 ECM. Its a pretty simple swap really. Electronic VB are very nice. Put it in D and race or cruise.
Return style is the only way to go, like we talked about on the phone. Personally, I would stay away from the A1000. Its not enough pump for what this combo would be capable of. Not to mention, its not that great of a pump longevity wise.
I am willing to give a hand in anyway you need.
